Tasting Notes
The nose opens with tones of wild berries, mulberry, hints of white pepper and sweet
spices and fresh thyme. The palate is bursting with blue fruits and fresh plums, with
a gentle tart touch that smoothen up beautifully with food. Finishing is elegant
with a lovely almond whiffle.
About the Winery
The initials of the winery G.D. Vajra stand for Giuseppe Domenico, Aldo Vajra's father, who signed the founding documents of the winery in 1972 and is located in Vergne, the highest village in the western Barolo area. The Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera varieties are cultivated there, as well as the Freisa and even the white Riesling grapes, which were important in the past, in strict compliance with fundamental ethical values.
