Legacy Peak Vineyard is located at an altitude of 1,246m in Ningxia Province, near the scenic area of the Xixia King Tombs.The vineyard comprises 6.8ha of Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.2ha of Merlot and 0.8ha of Chardonnay, all planted by in 1997, making it one of the very few vineyards in China with vines more than 18 years old. In 2010, LIU Hai took over the estate from his father, who planted the vineyards, with the ambition to make the best wine in Ningxia. In 2014, Legacy Peak Vineyard's inaugural release, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot won a gold medal at the China Wine & Spirits Awards. This was followed by the 2012 vintage of the same wine winning Silver at the 2015 Decanter World Wine Awards. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has also been selected for inclusion in the Bettane & Desseauve Wine Guide 2016.
