Smallfry, Schliebs Garden, 2016
Wine Region: Barossa Valley, Australia
Type: Red Wine
Grape: Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah/Shiraz
Tasting Notes:
Expect bright red fruit like cherry, plum, and raspberry, complemented by spices, earthy undertones, and a smooth tannin structure. The wine likely shows a balance of freshness and complexity from the biodynamic practices.
About the Winery:
Smallfry Wines is the venture of Wayne Ahrens and partner, Suzi Hilder. Both partners have great knowledge of winemaking. They had experience in mainstream winemaking, before turning to organic, natural and biodynamic practices. Their vineyards in the Eden Valley (led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling) and the Vine Vale area of the Barossa Valley (Shiraz, Grenache, Semillon, Mourvčdre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling) are certified biodynamic/organic.
