The La Forge Viognier displays a golden yellow with green tints, the nose is rich and elegant with violet locked in with succulent amounts of stone fruit, honey and hints of vanilla. The palate fresh and lively with spiced peach and pear, floral and persistent, finishing rich with even more candied fruit, spicy and clean. Do not over chill and would be best consumed now or in 5 years. Best served with seafood, light curry and blue cheese.
About the Winery
The fruit for the Paul Mas La Forge Estate Viognier were sourced from 15-20 year old vines, located east of Carcassonne in the Languedoc Wine Region, Southern France. The fruit was then quickly transported to Domaine Paul Mas in Pezenas, where the parcels of fruit were destemmed, macerated and fermented over a 4 week period, prior to 3 month malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and stainless steel. The fruit was then blended and bottled.
