About the Winery
Situated across the Murray Darling wine region, the location of the duxton vineyards plantings provides us with the opportunity to offer a diverse range of grape varieties.
The Murray Darling wine region is one of Australia key production areas and has a long history of viticulture.
The regions warm, dry climate and readily available water means it can produce consistent quality vintage after vintage. The ancient soils and inland climate, with its broad diurnal range, is ideal for traditional international classic varieties such as Shiraz, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as an array of other Mediterranean varieties.
Vineyards draws on these warmer climatic conditions to foster our innovative capabilities. Our plantings champion more sustainable varieties, such as Vermentino, Fiano and Nero d'Avola, which produce a higher quality grape in hot conditions while putting less pressure on natural resources for irrigation.
