A medium ruby color with very elegant notes of red berries (strawberry, cherry, griottes) combined with soft spices aromas with a hint of vanilla. Medium-bodied wine with ripe tannins and a well-balanced acidity. Red fruits aromas combined with spicy notes. Pairs well with red meat, white meat and lamb, veal or pork, game and soft/medium cheeses.
About the Winery
The fruit for the Paul Mas La Forge Estate Viognier were sourced from 15-20 year old vines, located east of Carcassonne in the Languedoc Wine Region, Southern France. The fruit was then quickly transported to Domaine Paul Mas in Pezenas, where the parcels of fruit were destemmed, macerated and fermented over a 4 week period, prior to 3 month malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and stainless steel. The fruit was then blended and bottled.
