Wine Region: Rhone Valley, France
Grape: Grenache, Syrah
Tasting Notes: ’Deep vivid red. Highly perfumed aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, incense and exotic spices pick up potpourri and mineral nuances as the wine opens up. Appealingly sweet and seamless in texture, offering vibrant, spice-laced raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors that exhibit a suave blend of richness and energy. Shows sharp clarity and mineral lift on the impressively long, smooth finish, which is given shape by discreet, slow-building tannins.’ (91-93) points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media, February 2020.
About The Winery: The Ourea estate is a young estate located on Vacqueras in the Southern Rhone region of France and led by the young and talented Adrien Roustan. The field of Ourea produces Vacqueras red and white on 9 hectares, as well as gigondas on 4.5 hectares. The Ourea area has a magnificent terroir in altitude, between 400 and 550m, which allows the wines to keep more freshness than the majority of the wines of the same appellations. Moreover, Andrien tries to harvest ripe but not too much, to benefit from a maximum of fruit in bottle while keeping digestible wines. A Burgundy approach in the Rhone Valley.
