Wine Region: Savoie, France
Grape: Mondeuse Noir
Tasting Notes
This red wine, a little more rustic, is typical of Savoy. This Mondeuse with a ruby color is expressed by a powerful nose of black fruits like blueberry and blackberry. The mouth is well structured with first notes of red fruits, ending with aromas of spices and roasting.
About the Winery
Philippe Chatillon, winemaker, was the manager of the estate of Pinte in Arbois (39, Jura) for 18 years. When he returned to the Jura in January 2013, he decided to create his own domain. He finds in Passenans in Cotes du Jura, on a sunny hill, a vine of Savagnin. Then, next, Red-tailed Melon and Gamay. Further on, on a more calcareous soil, he buys old black Pinots and Chardonnay. The adventure begins with these 2 hectares.
