Wine Region: Ningxia, China
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes
Vibrant, racy and bright sums up how I think Grigio should be. Aromas of Nashi pears and green apples, which are also found on the dry, crisp refreshing palate. Great intensity and liveliness.
About the Winery
The Legacy Peak vineyard is located at an altitude of 1,246m, in the beautiful scenic area of the Xixia King Tombs (Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region), and is one of very few vineyards in China with vines over 18 years old. The vineyard is composed of 6.9 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.2 hectares of Merlot and 0.8 hectares of Chardonnay, all planted by Liu Hai's father in 1997. In 2010, Liu Hai took over the estate with the ambition of making the best wine in Ningxia. Since 2014, the winery has launched Legacy Peak Kalavinka 2011, which was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the CWSA China Wine & Spirits Awards, while other wines have won a number of medals at the decanter Asia Wine Awards. The wines are exported to Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and other countries and regions.
