Wine Region: Barossa Valley, Australia
Grape: Grenache
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Brick red with garnets.
Aroma: More savoury nose with brooding fruit, eucalypt and fennel.
Palate: Fruit showing here of the fresh forest variety, emery cloth tannin wrapped up in a cashmere like oak blanket. Long, goes on forever.
Summary: As we go along it is with pride that we start producing wines of this quality. All of the aspects of our viticulture and winemaking are on show.
About the Winery:
Smallfry Wines is the venture of Wayne Ahrens and partner, Suzi Hilder. Both partners have great knowledge of winemaking. They had experience in mainstream winemaking, before turning to organic, natural and biodynamic practices. Their vineyards in the Eden Valley (led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling) and the Vine Vale area of the Barossa Valley (Shiraz, Grenache, Semillon, Mourvčdre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling) are certified biodynamic/organic.
